porridge

I have been having a pretty mellow


everyday life these days.


Neither bad things nor magical things have happened.


Well I guess not everyday can be so magical


otherwise I won't know


what is magical and what is not.


Anyways, the point is,


I am enjoying these mellow days.





Oh, so I tried to cook rice on the stove,


(You know, I'm Japanese so

I SHOULD be able to cook rice.)


but alas,


....I failed.


I looked inside the pot


and it was kind of soggy


so I decided to add more water


and turned it into porridge.



Flexibility is the key to happiness!



Anyways and unfortunately


we have a week worth amount of porridge


waiting for us in the fridge.


I will have fun finding stuff


that would go well with it though.

I have a little bit of good news today.




.....I got a job!



It's a copywriter job for


a Japanese company in BKK.


For a while,


I will only receive


100B per article


but once the company thinks


I am ready, I will be paid alright.


I think this will be a great opportunity


for me to polish up my Japanese


and see

(though I won't see it visually)


how influential my writing could possibly be.


Depending on the client and


the targeted customers,


I will have to change the tone of my writings,


which I don't think I have done


very often


and that excites me!


Yes, I will have to write


some cheazy lines


I am sure,


but that seems kind of fun too.


Anyways,


I will try my best.

I want a Vespa

I am practicing to ride a motorcycle


(...don't worry I am practicing at a safe place.)


these days and I want my own Vespa


one of these days.


It's a Vespa on-parade in Chiang Mai.


it's like seeing a Vespa fashion show on the roads,


and whenever I see somebody's lovely Vespa,


I wish it was mine.



Well, someday I will have my own,


yes I will.



I am trying out a black and white film now,


and I am very excited to develop it.


Isn't it funny, it seems like it's always


when you are longing to develop a film


that you can't find many things


you want to take?


It seems like it will take a while


until I will finish this roll of film.


It's okay though


since by the time I finish this roll,


I won't remember what I took


and it'll be all surprise.


That's one of the aspect


I really appreciate about film cameras.

Po Chai Pills

So my stomach has been hurting for a while,

actually for quite a while

....I don't know when was the last time

my stomach was feeling alright.


Last night, I told myself

that if it was still hurting today,

I will go to a pharmacy

that carries a lot of

Chinese medicine.

...and so it was hurting this morning

despite my little prayer before going to bed.


There is a pharmacy in Waroro that

Evan and I like.

It looks really old school

and they have tons of mysterious looking

herbs and dried snakes (?) etc...

One of these days,

I am going to ask them to mix

a special medicine for me.



Anyways, so I wrote down

'stomachache' and 'Chinese medicine'

in Thai so I can tell the pharmacist

what's wrong and what I want.

The pharmacist looked through the shelves

and showed me a box that almost looked like

a perfume box or something

and I was a little skeptical if it was going to work.

(Doesn't it look a little sketchy?

Kind of too cute to be good?)


Well, it was only 90 baht which is like

4 dollars so I decided to give it a try.

If it doesn't work,

that's that.

I will look for another drug...

I was willing to try anything at that point.

I came back and I tried the whole

cylinder like it said on the box,

though I can't read Chinese

I could kind of understand from the

Chinese characters (kanji)

and I think it said have the entire thing at once.



I think it's really working.



I did some research about the pills

and it seems like a lot of

Japanese people are writing about it.

Many say that they bring back a lot

when returning to Japan

or they ask other people to bring back

when they go on a vacation or a business trip.


Mmmm, I feel like I found my hero for my stomach.

(...and possibly hangover and headache,

if what it says on the box is true.)


Another great thing about this pill is that

the box and container are really cute.


I hope I wake up tomorrow morning

without and pain in my stomach.



Maybe I will kiss the man on the box.

Happy New Year to you all.


Last night was so magical.


(...and I am magically not hungover!)



Too bad I didn't take any photos


but maybe sometimes it's better just to remember


beautiful things.


Well, but since I don't have anything


to show to tell you what was so beautiful,


I am going to try describing the night.


It was kind of like


being on a seafloor,


and you gaze up


to see the moon


and there are these glowing jelly fishes


all over the place


and all those jelly fishes are going


up and up and up


...and at midnight,


fireworks went off


and people were hugging and kissing


and it seemed like everybody was happy


and it seemed like


there was nothing that people should worry about.


Wishing world peace sounds


too cliche?


That's okay though.


I still wish for world peace,


and I hope there are many more smiles


on earth this year.



By the way, I wonder why Daft Punk makes me cry?




Oh, and the cilantro looks more like
